Red Nails- Happy Nails

Who doesn't like to be repinned?

In light of being repinned over 15 times on Pinterest (16 to be exact), I wanted to share this weeks mani. Nothing special. Just a simple red manicure.

You can never go wrong with red nail polish. It's looks great on every skin tone and during any season.

I picked "Big Apple Red" by Opi- which I've never used before. The perfect punchy red. It's actually now my new favorite red.

Simple and to the point!

Happy Leap Year Junkies!

"The Carrie Diaries"- For The Sex and the City Fans

Hello Loverrrr (in a Carrie Bradshaw Voice)

We all remember that first opening credit in season one of Sex and the City where Carrie Bradshaw played by Sarah Jessica Parker is walking down a NYC street in her cute little tutu outfit. Just basically taking in what the city had in store for her. Walking and smiling with her flawless rosy cheeks-then BAM! Carrie gets splashed by a considerate NYC bus driver (that would be sarcasm for those of you who don't know).

We got to see Carrie's character along with her three best friends Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda take over NYC. Between the shoes (oh, the beautiful shoes), clothes, hairstyles, heart aches, moments which made us tear up and all the sex Samantha had- we all loved that show for our own reasons.

I mean, I know we all have a Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda in our group of girlfriends. If you don't, I suggest you get them because life is a lot more fun that way.

Moving on..................

Now for the good news- The CW Network has picked up the pilot for 'The Carrie Diaries" which will show our favorite fashionista as a high school teen in Manhattan. Who doesn't want to see young Carrie in the 80's? I personally LOVE the 80's.

Carrie's teenage character will be played by AnnaSophia Robb who starred in "Soul Surfer". She will also have two friends played by Katie Findlay and Ellen Wong. Obviously this is pre Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha stage. Stefania Owen is cast to play Carrie's little sister Dorritt who is based on the author Candance Bushell's "Sex and the City" prequel.

AnnaSophia Robb
Katie Findlay
Ellen Wong

I personally can't wait to see how this turns out. Carrie was definitely a fun loving adult character. Lets see if the writers can portrait her young character the same.

So in light of the funny witty character that is Carrie Bradshaw, I leave you with one of my favorite scenes. The Post It Break-Up. Of course while watching this I'm yelling at the TV for Carrie to just walk awayyyyyyyyy! She had to get out what she needed to say. Made for GREAT TV as always!

Rock With the Doc- My New Dr.Martens

After all these years, I've finally popped my Dr. Martens cherry!

When I was a little girl I remember seeing rockers and ravers wearing Dr. Martens. I was too busy wearing pink sneakers with glitter laces so needless to say the Docs were never really my style.

One main reason I never liked them was because of how enormous they looked on other peoples feet. I felt as if they were too bulky for my taste. I'm a very petite girl and if I wear shoes that are big and hefty, I feel like my feet look like elephant feet.

Well, this post isn't about how much I dislike something- that's what my twitter is for. I'm actually here today to tell you that I'm in love with a pair of Dr. Martens. I was shopping at my local Journeys Store and saw this floral pair of Docs but I was with my best friend and she wouldn't let me buy them. So I went back with out her. The moment I tried them on I had to have them!

Lucky for me, Dr. Martens has a whole women's casual line that is totally my taste.  Cover in floral print and made of canvas. LOVE! They let me stay true to who I am- super girly but keeps that punk twist that I like throw in.

The shoe is part of the Eclectic Collection. They basically took their old traditional shoe and put a major twist on them. The description on their website calls them "a light and yet durable shoe and boot that will win over those who may never have previously worn Dr. Martens". Well my friends, you've won me over!

You can find this pair and others from The Eclectic Collection at any Journeys Store and DMUSAStore.Com which is the official Dr. Martens website.

Oh, they come in white also. Which i'm going back to get.

Chanel Dirty Glam Nails

Hey Loves!

I can't wait to share my nail creation with everyone!

Today I used Chanel "Vamp" nail polish with Chanel "Fusion" eyeshadow and this is what I came up with!

I dabbed the eyeshadow with a brush (used a lipstick brush) after applying my two coats of vamp. Make sure to let the nail polish dry because you can ruin the makeup brush. I blew off the excess powder on my nails. Then, used a quick dry top coat which spread the eye shadow on my nail bed. After nails are completely dry- wash hands and voila! Dirty Glam Nails!

To increase the shimmer- leave excess shadow on nails and apply top coat.

Essie carries a color almost exactly the same as the Vamp- its called "Clutch Me if You Can" and of course any gold shimmer eye shadow will work!

Nail polish and shadow compliments of my future mother-in-law.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter Runway Show in London

Oh, Where do I begin?

Yesterday while on Twitter, I read that a live feed of the Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter Runway show was going to be broadcast from London- Of course when I need to be in front of a computer, i'm not. That's fine because thanks to the google images and YouTube I am able to share the greatness that is Alexander McQueen.

I've spent all morning watching video's and scrolling through tons and tons of images so I can pick out my "Wish List"- I say "wish list" because even if I sold both of my kidneys, all of my designer bags and shoes- died, then donated my body to science. Came back to life- I still wouldn't be able to afford it. BUT, I have great news, donations are welcomed! Oh, and I forgot to mention this is his more affordable line. Which by looking at the images and videos you would never guess.

Moving on.......................

Alexander McQueen took the fashion world by storm when he came onto the scenes in 1992. Even though the fashion industry didn't always agree with his attempts he still held his ground without compromising his designs and creativity.

Watching his runway shows is almost as watching a dramatic movie with no words and intense music.
I personally love it and become captivated while watching it.

His theme this time around for his Fall/Winter show is a typical chic almost rockstar look. That's just the way I describe it. I loved the military inspired trench coats along with the thigh high boots.  The cinched waist and tulle is a added bonus.

These are just two of my favorite looks from the show.
I also added a youtube video which I can't stop watching! So enjoy!

Happy Tuesday Everyone

TOMS Ballet Flats- ALREADY Obsessed.

Happy Sunday Loves!

This is the first time i'm blogging from my new laptop so if you see any grammar mistakes please forgive me- but then again i've probably already have 1000 mistakes. I mean, no one is perfect.

Moving On..............

So on this Sunday I want to share with you my new SHOE find! Well, its not totally new- I'm actually about 18 days late. Which is an eternity in the fashion world! Better late than never!

The topic on this Sunday? BALLET FLATS! The invention, all woman have come to love for work or for play! Are you obsessed with ballet flats like me? I seriously own about 40+ pairs. I personally prefer ballet flats because you can always dress them up or down and I'm all about that.

The company TOMS has now created a line of ballet flats!!!

TOMS is well known for their comfortable and affordable shoe. They also have this cool program called "The One For One Movement". The "movement" basically is TOMS matches every shoe that is purchased with a pair of shoes for a child in need. How great is that? Not only do we get comfortable and stylish shoes but we also get to help a cause we probably never even think of!

This February was their launch of their trendy ballet flats- I'm currently working on owning every single pair. The cute names like Natalia, Isabel, Katia, Gisele, Camila, Alessandra and Lina give the shoe some personality- I think.

The flats range from $74 - $84- if not for style only they are definitely worth it for the cause. You can find them on TOMS.COM or Nordstrom.Com. Happy Shopping!

Which is your favorite?

I pick them ALL!

Photos are of course thanks to google images and the TOMS website.

M•A•C VIVA GLAM for Ricky & Nicki

So even though Fashion Week was coming to an end in NYC last week MAC Cosmetics stole some of the spot light to introduce the new faces of VIVA GLAM. Ricky Martin and Nicki Minaj are now added to the list of elite celebrities to grace the ads of VIVA GLAM.

So of course two days later I went to MAC to purchase the two products.
Figure I would try them out and if I didn't like them I can always return. MAC cosmetic counters and stores have a really good return policy.

I grabbed the Viva Glam Nicki which is a pink lipstick in MAC's Satin and of course the Viva Glam Ricky Lip Conditioner.

Went home and put the lipstick on and it was such a pretty shade of pink. I actually have been looking for a color exactly like it. I wore the lip conditioner all last night and my lips have never felt so soft- no seriously...wearing it as I type right now.

Want to hear the best part?

Every single dollar from this purchase is put towards woman, men and children living with or affected by HIV or AIDS. Making this purchase didn't only fill my makeup bag to the top but it also goes towards one thee best causes.

Some MAC stores are giving out Viva Glam posters with each purchase. While supplies last of course.

Have a safe and healthy Saturday loves!

•Added a bonus pic of me wearing the lipstick. After applying, I blotted my lips on the back of my hand so it wasn't super punchy and then made a kissy face. (I just laughed out loud)

Vogue •March Issue with Adele

So, I'm sitting here on my lunch break having coffee and reading the latest issue of Vogue magazine which a dear friend went on a semi hunt for. I couldn't find this issue anywhere! I thought, hmmm why not share what I'm reading?

It normally takes me about a week to read through Vogue. I like to look at every inch. Especially the first 100 or so pages which are full of advertisements from Stuart Weitzman, Express, Jimmy Choo, Micheal Kors and YSL- just to name a few.

This issue is ONE and I exaggerate the word one because there are so many issues I can call my favorite but this one is because of Adele. Oh how I love Adele.

Where do I begin? One of my best friends use to always listen to "Chasing Pavements" and I never really took notice. But then I heard "Cold Shoulder" and I fell in love. I knew this girl had a voice and a statement she wanted to make.

This months issue of Vogue highlights Adele in such a way that you almost want to hangout with her and have a cup of tea or two (because that is what English people do right?). She seems so far from famous. Like an average person. Very far from average though. The article goes on to talk about her throat surgery to her performing at the Grammys.

The worst part of this article is that you come to find out that she is taking 3 years off. I mean, I'm ok with that only because I know whenever she decides to come back she will be even more incredible. Oh and not to leave out that her "19" and "21" album is still on full repeat on my iPod. So I won't miss her much but can't wait to hear new Adele.

If you love Adele the way I do, it is definitely an issue worth picking up. The article is great and not to mention all the other lovely things!

Happy Friday My Junkies!!!

New York Fashion Week - Marc Jacobs Fall 2012 Mini View

Since I'm not famous or anyone important in the fashion industry I wasn't able to attend this New York Fashion Week. I considered sneaking into a couple of shows but I prefer to not go to jail because I like and enjoy my life. This didn't prevent me from stalking every website or blog and reading every tweet in or revolving around this Fashion Week.

I wanted to share some runway looks from one of my favorite designers of all time- Marc Jacobs.

I (me, Suma) call this "The Mad Hatter meets your Local Bag Lady who's wearing Pilgrim like shoes"- you'll see...it will make sense.

These were honestly some of my favorites from his runway show.

Laced Up Nails- Sally Hansen Salon Effects

Its about that special time where I do my nail post! These are honestly my favorite because I LOVE changing my nail polish and creating new designs. It's me using my creativity in a little way that actually goes such a long way because it's so noticeable. Next to shoes- someone's nails is the first thing I notice.

Moving on.........

This time I went down the lazy route and used the Sally Hansen's Salon Effects. This is the second time I've used it and I must say it is worth the 10 bucks (depending where you find them). It stays on for longer than a week and I add a little clear top coat to give it an extra stick. They are so easy to use and hassle free. No drying. No waiting.

If you haven't tried them yet, I do suggest you add it to your list of things to do!

Find them in your nearest drug store or Target. Of course by the nail polishes.

See you guys soon!

A Happy Love Filled Day From Me!

Mini post just to wish EVERYONE a Happy Valentine's Day also known as Tuesday to most.

Most likely you look as if Valentine's Day has thrown up all over you or there is someone around you who is dressed that way.

Despite the actual cause of this day- at least I get to wear red and my Hello Kitty headband. Just on side note red looks good on me.

I put together some of my favorite online goodies to represent this day!

Once again loves Happy Valentine's Day!

Grammy Awards -Music, Fashion and Adele

I watched this years Grammys for two reasons- the outfit choices and of course the amazing Adele. (Love her)
Btw, she swept the awards and totally deserves it.

Moving on....

The Grammys is a night where musicians old or new, big or small in every genre come together to celebrate those who (for lack of a better term) are having a great year.

Some put their best stiletto forward while others look as if their stylist might hate them.

Best dressed for me was Kate Beckinsale wearing Zuhair Murad- the dress fit her perfectly in every way. I would wear something like that to any special event. I also really liked it because I feel that most go for that long dramatic gown and this was the total opposite

Now to get to the real issue. Who dressed Fergie and why did they think that was going to be ok? In my opinion she was the worst dressed tonight. I know this whole see through lace is in but come on. Too much. I don't even want to give the shout out to the designer because it isn't fair.

I threw in some other highlights from tonight's Grammy's including Katy Perry, Kelly Osbourne and Nicki Minaj- who I have no real words for. Can't forget Ms.GaGa- I prefer to wear the fishnets on my legs in the fashion of a stocking but the Lady herself thinks differently.

Hope everyone has a fashionable week!

Shop M•A•C Cremeblend Blush <3

I decided the other day to go into MAC to check out their new line called Shop MAC. So of course I drag my best friend and we set out on what I called a MAC Mission.

Stopped by MAC in Roosevelt Field Mall Long Island, New York and ended up meeting the sweetest makeup artist Rebecca. She has been a MUA (makeup artist) for 7 years and has been working for MAC for 8 months. While talking to her about how she liked working at MAC I could see the glitter in her eyes. She actually said she dreamed about it since she was 12. Cute.

I picked out one of the Cremeblend Blushes called "Florida. The reason why I picked out "Florida" was because the model in the ad for Shop MAC was wearing it and she had almost the same skin tone as mine.

Rebecca came over and helped me apply the Cream based blush to my cheek. She used her hands to spread it on my face but the thing I liked about her was while doing it- she explained how she applied it.

She told me how pretty it looked on my face which I had to believe because when I looked over at my best friend she wasn't making an "Ew face", which would normally happen when I try on makeup that doesn't look right. (I mean, that's why we have best friends right?)

I walked over to the mirror to look at it- and I must say it looked so pretty! Rebecca had me apply it on myself-still with some assistance. The blush was creamy yet easy to blend and move around my cheek. She recommended passing a brush through it also. The pink made my face look fresh and bright. I fell in love with it. So of course, I had to buy it. (I had no other choice)

I also tried on the set of Lip-glosses that the line carried. They were velvety and rich in color.

They only had four on display so thats the four I brushed on my hand.
The ones on my hand are:
•Enchantee
•Woo Me
•Scan-delicious
•Flaunting It

My shopping experience was definitely pleasant thanks to the beautiful MUA Rebecca. Oh and on a side note-her makeup was absolutely flawless. Definitely going back to see her!

Happy Friday Night Junkies!

Peace, Love, Fashion and on this post Makeup,

The Love Bandit! A Hello Kitty Collection

Some of you may or may not know this but I am one of THEE biggest Hello Kitty fanatics. Fanatic meaning- I have a HK tattoo sleeve. My whole left arm is basically covered with Hello Kitty and Sanrio characters. Yes, the obsession is that serious. So, of course it was only a matter of time before I posted something about the cutest feline!

The company Loungefly who is known for their creative and cool merchandise has collaborated with Sanrio to create a Hello Kitty line which steals the heart- literally.

The new "Love Bandit" edition is absolutely adorable. It shows my favorite little white cat as the cutest crook. Dressed like an old school bandit wearing of course her signature bow and ears poking out of her hat. My favorite part of her outfit is her little red belt with a heart buckle that is over her black and white striped jumper. Too cute!

The goodies include a wallet, tote bag, coin purse, socks, a lunch box and of course those little key caps- plus more.

This new line has arrived just in time for Valentine's Day. If you are a crazy obsessed fan like me then it is a must grab for your collection! Or if you just want something new and cute- this works also!

It is now available on Sanrio.Com and any Sanrio retail boutique.

Stay warm or cool depending where you're from!

Colored Denim- The new "Blue" Jean

They say there are no boundaries when it comes to fashion- that I believe. I also believe when it comes to trends you should follow them at your own discretion. It's what feels right for you.

Meaning- just because everyone is wearing leopard and fur doesn't mean you should wear them all at once or look as if leopard threw up all over you. Just saying.

One of this springs biggest trend is Colored Denim. If you shop weekly like I do, then you must have already seen them in EVERY clothing store worth shopping in.

By request (yes I take request) this post is for those of us who aren't sure if Colored Denim is a trend we want to try. Let me just say that, by the time you finish reading this post- you definitely will feel comfortable with the idea.

Let's break it down.

•Pairing your colored denim with a neutral colored top is always an easy fix. (Black, white, gray, navy)

•Wearing tall boots or boots that go above ur ankle seem to cut down the "look" -I find wearing booties or ballet flats OR soon to come a sandal with ur denim completes the look on a casual and dressy way and shows the jean as a whole.

•I like mixing graphic t-shirts with it also. To not get too crazy maybe just a white with black graphic on it.

•Color on Color is ok- I personally don't like the same color all together. For example: Red denim with a Red sweater. I know it looks perfect on the mannequins but let's not. Mixing different colors together is an ok. Let's remember to also not look like a color wheel threw up on us either.

If you want to get a little "crazy" with it- I LOVE leopard with any pair of colored denim. I don't know what it is about the way it looks but I LOVE IT.

How do you feel now? Still not convinced you can pull it off?

Ok, well I tried my best to pair things with different colored denim to maybe help a little more.

I threw in a couple of pics with me wearing my red denim. Tried putting something together from my closet to give you what I call a "human feel"-don't judge the quality of the pics....it's a hard job taking pictures of yourself!

The last outfit with the orange and floral top is my FAVORITE- just a side note.

Hope I helped! I tried touching every inch without writing a book. Oh and before I forget- fashion and trends are something to be played with- this spring try something you normally wouldn't. See how it feels. Add a little more color. I wish you luck and please if any questions- feel free to ask!

Peace, Love and Fashion
